Okay, is it just me or has the plot line on "Lost" entered the realm of the really, really weird? I mean I've been a fan of this show since its inception, but this new "past, present, future" thing is messing me up.
So...
I'm a huge fan of the Fox series, "24."
I even have the 24 ring tone on my cell phone.
You know...deet, deet, dee-dah.
That's the one.
I always feel an inexplicable emptiness when the season comes to a conclusion.
Kind of like something essential will be missing for six months.
To complicate matters Lost is also wrapping up this week.
Bereft of suitable entertainment, what is to become of me???
Wait...I know!
I'll work on my novel.
All right then.
RG...out!
PS...what are your summer plans once your favorite series wraps up for the season?
Where is it written that 99 degrees is acceptable in the middle of March???
Sunday.
Driving from Oceanside, California through Fallbrook, California (north county San Diego) we drove through 99 degrees which was fifteen degrees hotter than Las Vegas!
Al Gore must be Euphoric.
I finished the manuscript for my latest book.
Short stories.
A real departure for me.
And yet, for some reason I am more hopeful about this project than any of the previous novels, screenplays or whatever.
Perhaps it's because for once I have an advocate.
I'll let you know what happens.
Does anyone in America understand the bracketing for the NCAA tournament?
Just thought I'd ask because I can guarantee that no one here in Las Vegas has the slightest clue.
I've come to the realization that I am profoundly addicted to both "24" and "Lost."
The producers of Lost almost, ahem, lost me due to the ridiculous story line at the beginning of the new season.
And then in December they went on a six week hiatus.
What the heck was up with that?
But the past few weeks have been just like the old days.
And 24...what can you say about 24?
How about, "When do they ever relieve themselves?"
And how is it possible for Jack Bauer to even function after two bouts of torture just hours apart let alone be off to save America, yet again, from nuclear holocost?
I am obsessed with getting that "24" ringtone for my phone.
This just in...
There was another implosion on the Strip last night.
Did I say last night?
Excuse me, I meant to say AT TWO-FREAKING-THIRTY THIS MORNING!!!!!!!!!
The old Stardust hotel went the way of the Dunes, the Sands, the Landmark, et al, in a--and I'm not making this up--televised "event."
That's right.
At 2:30 AM you could turn on your TV and see the grand old lady go down in a flash of fire and billows of smoke.
Me, I could see the whole thing from my master bedroom window.
It sounded like an invasion!
Didn't get back to sleep until after four!
There is this redhead over there on the right panel who has been staring at me the entire time I've been composing this blog.
She bats her eyes seductively.
Lips parted as if preparing to pronounce something...something...well, something that a seductive redhead would say.
When I move my cursor in close proximity...her eyes follow and her pretty red head turns.
"Dynamic Speaking Characters," quoth the signage above her.
Who do you have watching you on your compose page?
RG...out!
